Elevator handover is the structured completion process at the end of a new installation or modernisation project. It includes: final inspection by a notified body or competent person, presentation of the CE Declaration of Conformity (EU) or equivalent certification, operation and maintenance manual delivery, key handover, training of designated building personnel, and first maintenance visit scheduling. The handover checklist covers all commissioning tests, as-built drawings, safety certificate, spare parts list, and warranty documentation. EN 81-20 and EN 81-50 testing must be complete and signed off before handover. A formal handover certificate is signed by both parties as proof of transfer.
