Hall position indicators are mounted above or beside the landing door at each floor and display the current car position as a floor number, segmented LED or LCD display, or graphic bar. In group installations, a separate indicator is provided for each car or a combined display shows which car is approaching. Position data is fed from the controller or floor selector. Modern indicators may also show direction arrows, estimated arrival time, and accessibility information. EN 81-20 requires position indication in multi-car group installations.
