The elevator fuse holder is a mechanical carrier designed to accept standard cartridge or blade fuses for overcurrent protection of individual circuits within the elevator controller, machine room distribution board, or car junction box. Fuse holders must be rated for the maximum circuit current and voltage, with appropriate breaking capacity. DIN rail-mounted holders (e.g., 10×38 or 22×58 mm cartridge types) are standard in European elevator panels. Finger-safe designs (IP20 live-part protection) are required where fuses may be changed under live conditions. Knife-blade disconnectable fuse holders serve a dual role as isolators.
