The anti-false-call (AFC) device, also called nuisance call cancellation, detects when multiple car calls are registered in rapid succession (a pattern typical of vandalism or children pressing all buttons) and cancels all registered calls, returning only legitimate calls. Implemented in software in modern microprocessor controllers. AFC can significantly reduce unnecessary stops and energy consumption in buildings with high vandalism risk. Some implementations require the car to park at a floor for a defined period before calls are re-enabled.
