A digital or static media screen installed inside the elevator cabin or at landing call stations to deliver advertising, building information, or tenant communications to passengers.
Full Definition
Elevator advertising displays range from simple backlit static panels to networked full-HD LCD/LED screens managed by content management systems (CMS). In-cabin screens are typically 10–32 inch portrait-orientation displays mounted on side or rear walls, powered from the car lighting circuit (230 V AC or 24 V DC). Networked systems communicate via Wi-Fi or LAN through the travelling cable. Content can be scheduled, triggered by floor position, or integrated with building wayfinding systems. Safety requirements prohibit displays that obstruct emergency communication devices or exit signage. High-brightness (≥700 cd/m²) panels are specified for well-lit lobbies; anti-glare coatings are standard for cabin interiors. Revenue-share models with media operators are common in commercial and residential multi-tenant buildings.
