Linear motor elevators use a linear induction motor (LIM) with stator coils mounted in the hoistway and reaction plate on the car, eliminating hoist ropes, traction machine, and counterweight. Multiple independent cars can share one hoistway or loop circuit. Developed by ThyssenKrupp (MULTI system), enabling both horizontal and vertical movement.
