The door motor drive (door drive controller) is an electronic module that precisely controls the speed, acceleration, and torque of the door operator motor, providing smooth, quiet, and fast door operation with accurate force limiting. Modern door drives use brushless DC motors with encoder feedback and programmable motion profiles. Force limiting prevents injury if an obstruction is detected (≤150 N closing force per EN 81-20). Door timing parameters (open time, dwell time, close speed) are configurable. Integration with the car controller enables synchronisation of door and car movement for re-levelling with doors open.
