The door architrave (also called door surround or door reveal) is a trim profile installed around the perimeter of the landing door opening to provide a finished architectural appearance and conceal the interface between the door frame and the building's wall finish. Materials include stainless steel (brushed, mirror, or hairline), powder-coated steel, stone, or decorative laminates. The architrave is fixed to the landing door frame and must accommodate building settlement and floor-to-floor tolerance. It is not a structural or safety component but must not obstruct the door opening or interfere with door operation.
