Key adjustments include: sill gap (3–6 mm between car sill and landing sill), door panel alignment in the fully closed position, coupler engagement depth with landing door rollers, door speed profile (opening and closing), contact gap for the door contact (typically 0.5–1 mm), and re-opening device sensitivity. Mis-adjusted doors are a leading cause of elevator entrapment incidents and passenger injuries. After adjustment, door force (maximum closing force EN 81-20 ≤150 N with re-opening active) and door contact dwell must be measured and recorded.
