Standard elevator cabin wall panels are fabricated from 1.2–2.0 mm cold-rolled steel (pre-treated and powder-coated) or galvanised steel, bent to form a tray-type or cassette-type panel that clips or bolts onto the cabin frame uprights. Panel surface finish options include powder coat (RAL colours), grain embossing, or factory-applied vinyl wrap. Panels are typically produced in 3 sections per wall (left, centre, right) for ease of transport and installation; full-height single panels are used in premium installations. For cladding-over systems, the wall panel provides the substrate onto which stainless steel, HPL, or glass cladding sheets are bonded or clipped. Panel flatness tolerance is ≤2 mm over 1 m for cladding applications. In factory-built cabin packages (cabin in a box), all panels are pre-assembled and the cabin arrives on site as a complete assembly, reducing installation time from 5 days to 1–2 days. Sound insulation between panels requires a minimum mass of 8 kg/m².
