The door control board (DCB) is the electronic brain of the door operator subsystem. It receives open/close commands from the main elevator controller, drives the door motor via a PWM or H-bridge output stage, monitors encoder or position switch feedback to determine door position, and enforces safety-critical limits such as maximum closing force and obstruction detection. Modern DCBs communicate with the main controller via CAN bus or RS-485 serial interface. Diagnostics are available via LED indicators or a serial port. DCB faults are a common cause of door-related service calls and are diagnosed by fault code reading.
