The door clutch (also called door coupler, vane, or truck) is mounted on the car door panel and mechanically engages the landing door driving bar when the car enters the landing zone. As the car door motor opens the car door, the clutch pulls the landing door open with it. When the car door closes, the clutch releases the landing door, which is then held shut by the landing door lock. Clutch engagement gap, vane height, and roller contact must be correctly adjusted; incorrect adjustment causes failed door engagement, door lock damage, or entrapment risk.
