Collective control systems register all car calls and hall calls made while the car is travelling and serve them in sequential floor order in the current direction before reversing. This contrasts with single automatic control, which serves only one call at a time. Full collective control responds to both up and down hall calls simultaneously; selective collective control responds to hall calls in the direction of travel only.
